The goal of our research group is to apply novel and innovative scientific methodology in order to further our understanding of natural and human-impacted landscapes to ultimately aid and guide management policy.

Disease ecology and conservation medicine
Our research focuses on important North American species, ranging from the charismatic (the gray wolf, Canis lupus) to threatened (woodland caribou, Rangifer tarandus) to economically important wildlife (elk, Cervus elaphus) and domesticated species (cattle, Bos taurus).

We conduct research on the ecology and evolutionary biology of terrestrial large mammals. Our work is academic, but we also work with other stakeholders to formulate management and conservation plans, with a focus on western North American landscapes.
